Copyright & Content Reuse
Last updated: 7 July 2026
Ownership
Except where otherwise indicated, the original editorial content of cyprusjustice.com (the “Site”) — including the written narrative, the timeline, section introductions, translations between English and Greek prepared for the Site, and the visual design — is © 2026 the Site’s publisher and is protected by copyright and related rights under Cypriot, EU and international law.
What you MAY do
- Read, save and print pages of the Site for your own personal, non-commercial use.
- Link to any page of the Site freely. No permission is required to share a URL on social media, in an email, in a blog post or in any other context.
- Quote short extracts of the original editorial content (typically a sentence or short paragraph) for the purposes of news reporting, criticism, review, quotation or academic research, provided that:
- the quotation is clearly attributed to “Cyprus Justice — cyprusjustice.com”;
- the extract is accompanied by a working link to the source page;
- the extract is not altered in a way that changes its meaning; and
- the use is compatible with the fair-dealing / quotation exceptions of applicable copyright law.
- Reference factual information — dates, court names, procedural steps, and other non-copyrightable facts — in your own words without restriction.
What you MAY NOT do without permission
- Republish, mirror or systematically copy substantial portions of the Site’s original editorial content, in whole or in part, on another website, publication, newsletter, app or platform.
- Use the Site’s content — or any adaptation of it — for commercial purposes, including paid publications, paywalled content, or advertising-supported reproductions.
- Use the Site’s content to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine-learning or generative-AI models, or to build datasets for that purpose, without express written permission.
- Present the Site’s content in a way that suggests endorsement by, or affiliation with, any government agency, court, the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus, or any named individual.
- Remove, obscure or alter copyright notices, attributions or source links.
Third-party material
The Site refers to, and links to, material published by third parties — including news organisations, courts, government bodies and other publishers. That material remains the property of its respective rights-holders and is not licensed by the Site. Headlines, quoted extracts, images or logos belonging to third parties are shown only for identification, reference and commentary; if you wish to republish that third-party material you must obtain permission directly from the original rights-holder.
Similarly, official documents (court filings, press releases, official statements) remain subject to whatever legal regime applies to them at source. The Site does not extend any licence over such material.
Trademarks and names
Names of institutions, court bodies, media outlets and individuals mentioned on the Site are used solely for identification and reporting purposes. No affiliation with, or endorsement by, any such institution or individual is implied.
Corrections and takedown requests
The Site aims to be accurate and to rely on public, verifiable sources. If you believe that a specific piece of content infringes your rights, is factually inaccurate, or should be removed for another legitimate reason, please submit a written request identifying:
- the URL(s) of the page(s) concerned;
- the specific content in question;
- the basis of your request (e.g. copyright ownership, factual error, legal ground); and
- your contact details, so that we can respond.
We will consider all such requests in good faith and respond within a reasonable time.
Permissions
Requests for permission to reuse original Site content beyond what is allowed above — for example, translations, longer extracts, academic reproduction, or use in a book or documentary — are welcome and generally granted for non-commercial, properly attributed use. Please include a brief description of the intended use.
This page is provided for general information and does not constitute legal advice. The Site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any government agency, court, or the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic of Cyprus.
